About Us

We take pride in our work, just like you do.
Shattered Prism has been distributing lighting and power solutions to the Motion Picture Industry on the East Coast since its launch in 2014.

Parker founded Shattered Prism with the long-term goal of reducing the Entertainment industry's environmental impact through incorporating and accelerating the adoption of sustainable technologies.

Through their shared visions, Adam and Parker have expanded their efforts to a broader market: preparing, educating, and empowering a wide range of industries for the inevitable shift to carbon neutral solutions.

PARKER SHIPPEY

IATSE LOCAL 52
CHIEF POWER & EVENT CONSULTANT
Parker is a Chief Lighting Technician & Electrician who has been working in the Jurisdiction of I.A.T.S.E. Local 52 for over a decade.

As a CLT & ACLT, Parker has extensive experience managing personnel, leading and training future technicians on power concepts, lighting, and safety. Parker brings this expertise to each and every consultation in order to provide services for our clients that are catered to their needs, and ensure their success.

Parker rented equipment to film productions early on in his career, focusing on specialty lighting equipment and the miscellaneous Expendables that productions use day-to-day. His early adoption and addition of LED lights to his inventory pre-empted the industry-wide shift to the more efficient fixtures. Moreover, Parker altered the Expendables model traditionally utilized by productions, where every expendable is bought outright, and much of the usable materials left over at the end of productions go to waste.

These were just the first steps in a grander plan to reduce the unneccessary waste and rampant energy consumption Parker faced on a daily basis. While going green may be perceived by many to be an added cost and a hinderence to creativity, under the leadership of Parker Shippey, the aim is the contrary: empowering clients with resources for excellence and growth by providing cost effective solutions for industries impacted by the impending and inevitable demand for sustainability.

ADAM SHIPPEY

SAG-AFTRA
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Adam took on a co-management role with Parker after joining the company in June of 2019. He focuses on financial strategy and business development.

Adam has worked in the film industry as a SAG-AFTRA stuntman since joining the union in 2012, but his background is in asset allocation. He graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Economics, and worked as a portfolio manager for a wealth management company for four years prior to transitioning to performing stunts full-time.

His prior certifications/licenses include Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and Series 65.

Our Mission

Shattered Prism has been distributing lighting and power solutions to film, TV & commercial productions on the East Coast since its launch in 2014. The company was founded by a Chief Lighting Technician and member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 52 with the objective of reducing the film/TV industry’s environmental impact through incorporating sustainable technologies.

Our Process

One of the first steps towards our goal was the acquisition and rental of specialty LED lighting, which draw far less power than their predecessors. Shattered Prism is also pioneering more cost-effective and sustainable expendables services to production companies by recycling partially used expendables instead of discarding them.

Shattered Prism’s featured product is the VOLTstack portable power station, manufactured by Portable Electric. These solar-powered battery generators are available in various sizes, and provide clean, silent power without generating harmful emissions.

Our Growth

In recent years, Shattered Prism has expanded its offerings to target a host of industries that rely on portable power and lighting to operate, including live events, construction and disaster relief. The company has also expanded its geographic presence to include a location in New Orleans serving the southeast U.S.

Our Difference

Shattered Prism seeks to differentiate itself from other rental companies by delivering quality customer service and prioritizing client satisfaction. Our complimentary power consultation program for first-time clients is one example of this endeavor. We look forward to the opportunity to serve your power and lighting needs. Thanks for your interest in going green!
